Chief Technology Officer
*340B EXPERIENCE IS A MUST*
Salary: $235,000-$265,000 + EQUITY & BONUS
Location: San Antonio, TX (Must be willing to go onsite semi-frequently)
Responsibility:
The CTO is responsible for overseeing development and dissemination of technology and for directing, planning, and managing the company’s information systems to ensure the development and implementation of data processing, computer operations and related functions.
Essential Functions:
- Develops strategic plans identifying Information Technology applications to support business plans or create new strategic options.
- Plans and controls staffing and development, organization, hardware acquisitions and facilities for the information systems department to assure that they are consistent with and supportive of the business plans of the Company.
- Ensures that computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of corporate growth and changing corporate objectives.
- Directs the design, development and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the needs of the Company.
- Administers and controls the information systems expense budget to contribute to a cost-effective operation.
- Advises on timely investments in appropriate new technology.
- Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of systems and hardware to assure that new developments are incorporated in future systems of the Company.
- Acts as a liaison for functional departments on data processing matters in order to answer all questions, evaluate needs, monitor service, advise on problems, encourage data processing education and understanding, and ensure smooth conversion from manual to computerized systems, or from existing computer systems to new improved ones.
- Maintains informed regarding IT developments through attendance at trade shows and professional meetings and seminars.
- Performs periodic evaluations of the overall operational effectiveness of the IT services provided and oversees the analysis of systems within the area of interest. This includes the monitoring of the claim’s approval process and the analysis of applied algorithms to ensure their compliance within the 340B guidelines to ensure maximum potential savings targets are met for each client served
- Supervises information technology department personnel, including developers, business and data analysts, quality assurance analysts, and project manager.
- Serves on the Quality Management Committee as an active member with the functions and responsibilities outlined in the Quality Management Committee Charter, page 2.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Evaluates employee performance through the completion of mid-year and annual performance appraisals and plans for compensation actions in accordance with the level of performance.
- Provides feedback and continuous coaching to develop staff and improve employee performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A deep technical knowledge of the particular field is essential to include knowledge of programming languages, databases, and hardware infrastructure.
- Expert knowledge of software application development concepts with proficiency in enterprise-related software, services, and technology solutions.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry and industry-related trends and forecasts.
- Knowledge of management skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Must have strong analytical and strategy development skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Project.
- Ability to adapt quickly and integrate ever-changing market and technology trends with the company’s goals.
- Ability to decide which technology will further a company’s goals and how to implement the same.
- Must demonstrate good written and verbal skills to be able to effectively communicate internally and externally the impact of adopting a new technology.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Information Technology from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of eight to ten (8-10) of experience in managing one or more major information processing functions (operations, development, etc.) required.
- Experience in delivering and supporting technology solutions for customers required.
- Experience leading diverse teams is strongly preferred.
